Student scholarships from the Medical Physics Division of the Mexican Physics Society

The Medical Physics Division of the Mexican Physics Society will grant a limited number of scholarships for Mexican students with an accepted paper in which they are first author and the ones who are going to present it. There will be two options:

 

Option 1 - Pre-Symposium school + Symposium:

The scholarship will include 6 hotel nights (shared room) and a discounted registration fee of $3000 Mexican pesos for both the Symposium and the school. To be considered, you need to be accepted to the school.

 

Option 2 - Symposium:

The scholarship will include 4 hotel nights (shared room) and a discounted registration fee of $2000 Mexican pesos for the Symposium. 

 

To apply for one of the scholarships you need to send the following documentation to xvimsomp@correo.uady.mx before February 12, 2020 (23:59 Mexico City time).

  1. Letter to the Scientific Committee of the Symposium including:

    • Title, ID and presentation mode of the accepted abstract:

    • Scholarship option 

    • Short paragraph (200 words max) explaining why you should be considered for the scholarship.

  2. Official transcript (issued within the previous month)

  3. Letter (in letterhead) from the undergraduate or graduate program coordinator or thesis advisor granting permission to attend the school and/or the symposium.

 

You will be notified of the results by February 14.

Scholarships from the Centro Latinoamericano de Física (CLAF)

The Medical Physics Division of the Mexican Physics Society will grant a limited number of scholarships for Mexican students with an accepted paper in which they are first author and the ones who are going to present it. There will be two options:

 

Option 1 - Pre-Symposium school + Symposium:

Scholarships from the International Organization on Medical Physics (IOMP)

Through the sponsorship of the International Organization on Medical Physics, the organizing committee is offering a limited number of scholarships to clinical medical physicists from Mexico who are interested in attending the Symposium and attending the Symposium from outside Yucatan. Priority will be given as follows:

 

  1. Clinical medical physicists doing the IMPCB certification tests interested in attending the pre-symposium school. In this case, the scholarship will cover 4 nights of hotel (March 28, 29, 30 and 31) and a discounted registration to the pre-symposium school of $1500.

  2. Clinical medical physicists with accepted abstract: In this case, the scholarship will cover 4 nights of hotel (March 31, April 1, 2 and 3) and a discounted symposium registration fee of $2000.

  3. Physicists (not necessarily working in the clinic) members of the Division of Medical Physics of the SMF with accepted abstract: In this case, the scholarship will cover 4 nights of hotel (March 31, April 1, 2 and 3) and a discounted symposium registration fee of $2000.

  4. Clinical medical physicists attending the symposium: In this case, the scholarship will cover 4 nights of hotel (March 31, April 1, 2 and 3) and a discounted symposium registration fee of $2000.

 

Applicants to these scholarships should send the following documentation before February 14, 2020 (11:59 Mexico City time) to xvimsomp@correo.uady.mx:

 

  1. To be considered in priority 1, document demonstrating the registration to the IMPCB certification test and acceptance notification to the Pre-Symposium school.

  2. To be considered in priorities 1, 2 and 4, institutional letter stating that the applicant currently works in a clinical institution and that he/she has permission to attend the event.

  3. To be considered in priorities 2 and 3, letter to the Scientific Committee including the ID, presentation mode and title of the accepted abstract, and short paragraph explaining why you should be considered for the scholarship.

  4. To be considered in priority 4, letter to the Scientific Committee with short paragraph explaining why you should be considered for the scholarship.

  5. To be considered in priority 3, to be in the member list of the DFM of the SMF and an institutional letter stating that the applicant is currently working at the institution and that he/she has permission to attend the event.

  6. All applicants: Letter addressed to the Organizing Committee stating that, if the scholarship is granted, the applicants commit to attending the event at least during the days covered by the scholarship.
